Feed containers and baskets weekly to encourage good strong growth and fabulous flower displays.

Remove old flower stems from early flowering perennials to encourage further growth.

Pinch out shoot tips of fuchsias and other branched plants to encourage bushier growth and produce plentiful flowering stems.

Greenhouse shading painted onto the glass will prevent your plants being scorched and the compost drying out too quickly on hot days.

REFRESH your home - orchids exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide at night, making them perfect bedroom plants to clean the air around you while you sleep!

Mow and feed your lawns regularly now to keep it looking great over the next few months.

Protect your currants and other developing fruit from birds by using nets or scaring devices.

The warmer, damp weather has brought forward swarms of many types of pest - be prepared with your preferred method of control, whether chemical, nematode, organic or otherwise!

FRUIT TREES now ...

Keep a potted selection of your favourite herbs on a doorstep or windowsill within easy reach.

Check that lilies and other tall flowering plants have enough support - add extra canes or frames to increase stability.

Apply a good rich fertiliser around your roses to ecourage even stronger growth and stunning blooms.
